INTRODUCTION TO GOD’S KIND OF LOVE

1 Corinthians 13:4-7—Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Suffereth long, NT: 3114 makrothumeo (mak-roth-oo-meh’-o); from the same as NT: 3116; to be long-spirited, i.e. (objectively) forbearing or (subjectively) patient

More on the positive qualities of love:

–knowing God (1 John 4:8)

–keeping the commandments (1 John 5:3) also ties in with keeping his Word (1 John 2:5).

–being as Christ was in this world (1 John 4:17) I guess this is more the summation of the parts of love.
