Therefore since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. Hebrews 4.14
Have you heard someone say that no one understands what they are going through? Though not always, at times, you say this to excuse unwanted behavior because of a lack of self-discipline. Others may say that the devil made them do it showing a lack of responsibility for their own actions. It is simply not true that no one understands.
Christians have a great high priest! He is not like the high priests under the Mosaic law who had to offer sacrifices for their own sins before offering sacrifices for the people. Our high priest is without sin. Therefore, he became the sacrifice for our sins.
Jesus understands everything that you might be going through because he has already been through it. He has already been tempted in every way that you have been, but he did not give in to temptation; he remained sinless. He can sympathize with your weaknesses knowing how best to help in your time of need.
The next time you hear someone say that no one understands what they are going through, tell them that is not true. Jesus understands and is ready to help.
