We all get discouraged. Sometimes we try our best and our best does not work out the way we hoped and planned. It is then we reshuffle our plans and try again. Things have a way of working out.
When I lost my husband, I was very frightened. My life had been beside him and suddenly he was taken. I had to figure out finances, pay bills and I had no job. A week after the funeral and still in shock, I sat down and cried. I also prayed God would help me through all the financial matters, help me locate a job and learn to be on my own. I look back now and wonder how it worked out. GodHe heard my prayers and answered them. All worked out and I have made a new life. It’s not that things are easy every day, but I have learned to trust in Him. I do my best and He takes care of me.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; and He delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with His hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not His saints; they are preserved forever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.” Psalms 37:23:28
“Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalms 38:3-5
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:26-28
“Setbacks occur, but they are not failures unless we make them such. Let us recall that the roads we have taken had their bridges; and occasionally if one was out, the detour was not long.” ~ Leroy Brownlow
“Because it rains when we wish it wouldn’t,
Because men do what they often shouldn’t,
Because crops fail and plans go wrong,
Some of us grumble the whole day long.
But somehow in spite of the care and doubt,
It seems at last that things work out.
Because we lose what we hoped to gain,
Because we suffer a little pain,
Because we must work when we’d like to play,
Some of us whimper along life’s way,
But, somehow, as day will follow night,
Most of our troubles work out all right.
So bend to your trouble and meet your care,
For the clouds must break, and the sky grow fair.
Let the rain come down, as it must and will,
But keep on working and hoping still,
For in spite of the grumblers who stand about,
Somehow it seems, all things work out.” ~ Unknown
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 2:5-6
“She stood in the storm and when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails.” ~ Edwards
