Moses was the mediator of the Old Testament (Gal. 3:19-20).
Jesus was the mediator of the New Testament (Gal. 3:19-20; 1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 8:6; Heb. 9:15; Heb. 12:24).
What are the obvious differences between the two covenants?
- The Old Testament included 613 laws, which generally protected a man from his neighbor (Rom. 13:9-10).
- Sacrifices were required for forgiveness of sin each year (Lev. 16:8-10).
- Perfection/Salvation/Eternal Live did not come by the Law of Moses (John 5:39).
The Israelites became a nation, chosen by God, the day they left Egypt to cross the Red Sea (Exo. 19:5; Deut. 5:2-3).
When did Jesus become the King of his kingdom and establish his authority over Christians (Matt. 28:18; Acts 2:36; Acts 2:47)? Under the new covenant, at what point do New Testament Christians receive redemption by Christ’s blood (Matt. 26:28; Mark 14:24; Acts 2:38; Acts 20:28; Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:14, 20; Heb. 9:11-28; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7; Rev. 1:5; Rev. 7:14)?
Jesus was Prophesied to be the King of the Kingdom
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed (Dan. 7:13-14).
What does Matthew 28:18 say? “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” After Jehovah gave Jesus (the son) all authority he would send the Holy Spirit by Jesus.
According to the prophecy in Daniel 7:14, who would serve him? All people, nations, and languages, should serve him, which would be the church throughout the world.
Now consider the words of Gabriel when it was time for Christ to come into the world (Luke 1:30-33). “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”
