I do not need to be cuddled and catered to; I am a soldier. I am committed. I cannot have my feelings hurt badly enough to turn me away from the King. No man will discourage me and turn me aside. I am a soldier. I cannot lose enough to quit or even retreat to “greener pastures.”

While researching an article, I came across the following and believe others may like this it well.  The author is unknown.

Eph 6:11-18:  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

“The Lord Jesus is my Commanding Officer!  God’s Word is my code of conduct! Faith, prayer and the Word are my weapons of warfare!  I have been taught the Word of God, trained by experience, tried by adversity, and tested by fire.  I am a volunteer in His army; and I am enlisted for eternity! I will retire in this army, at times end or die in this army; but, I will not sell out, be talked out, or pushed out.  I am faithful, reliable, capable and dependable!  If my God needs me I am there!  If He needs me to teach Bible class, I am there.  I am a soldier.  I do not need to be pampered, petted, primed up, pumped up, picked up or pepped up; I am a soldier. I am not a wimp.  I am in my regiment saluting my King, obeying His orders, praising His name and building His kingdom’s borders.  I am a soldier.  I do not need to be cuddled and catered to; I am a soldier.  I am committed.  I cannot have my feelings hurt badly enough to turn me away from the King.  No man will discourage me and turn me aside.  I am a soldier.  I cannot lose enough to quit or even retreat to “greener pastures.”  When Jesus called me into His army I had nothing for this opportunity.  I am a soldier.  Because of my King, I am more than conqueror; I shall always triumph as a committed soldier.  I can do all things through Christ.  Demons cannot defeat me, weather cannot weary me, and sickness cannot stop me.  I am a soldier.  Battles will not beat me down, government cannot slow me down and certainly won’t silence me.  I am a soldier.  The adversary hates me, the bottomless pit wants me, society lives to see me fail.  A soldier of Christ Jesus will not be killed in that ugly second death, but will be promoted in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, and together we shall praise our Creator forever and ever.  I am a soldier. Stay in formation with the rest of us.   We will not give up, we will not slow down.  Lead or follow, it’s all the same to me, we’re going in the same direction.  Shout so the enemy cowers, fight that he might be devastated and don’t ever look back.  I am a soldier.  Together, we are soldiers in the most powerful force known to mankind.  Our God is
an awesome God and the world had better fear Him.  Who is on the Lord’s side?  Master, here I am.  The lion approaches, stand with me friend, for we are soldiers of Christ.”     ~Unknown

“God of our fathers, who by land and sea have ever lead us to victory, please continue your inspiring Guidance in this the greatest of all conflicts.  Strengthen my soul so that the weakening instinct of self-preservation, which besets all of us in battle, shall not blind me to my duty to my own manhood, to the glory of my calling, and to my responsibility to my fellow soldiers.  Grant to our armed forces that disciplined valor and mutual confidence which insures success in war.  Let me not mourn for the men who have died fighting, but rather let me be glad that such heroes have lived.  If it be my lot to die, let me do so with courage and honor in a manner which will bring the greatest harm to the enemy, and people, oh Lord, protect and guide those I shall leave behind.  Give us the victory, Lord.”      General George S. Patton, Jr.

“You have to be single-minded.  Drive only for one thing on which you have decided…and if it looks as if you might be getting there, all kinds of people, including some you thought were your loyal friends, will suddenly show up doing their hypocritical best to trip you, blacken you, and break your spirit.”       ~ General George S. Patton, Jr.
