One of those things to be grateful for is a simple recipe.

Are we grateful, truly grateful, for the people, friends and things God has blessed us with?  Or do we go about our day griping, murmuring and complaining about the weather, our clothing, food and just about anything else we can think of?

We all have “off” days when nothing literally goes right.  This has certainly happened to me.  Sometimes at the end of the day I just laugh at all of the things that could go wrong or did go wrong.  The car had a flat, I couldn’t find the lock key to the lug nuts, the toast burned, the cat became sick, my hair just wouldn’t cooperate, and then hit my head on a file cabinet.

We have all had those days.  But when we sit down and think about all we have and all that could have happened, but didn’t, we truly need to count our blessings.

A warm meal on a bitterly cold and windy day, cool when we are hot, warm when we are cold.  Automobiles to take us where we want to go.  Grocery stores and those who stock those items we want, a friend who believes in us, good health, clothing, Christian friends and neighbors, our family, our community.  Literally, a million things to be grateful for everyday.

“pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

I Thessalonians 5:17-18 ESV

One of those things to be grateful for is a simple recipe.  A comfort dessert, and who doesn’t like chocolate?

1 Can Eagle Brand

11.5 Oz. Chocolate Chips

1 Cup of Pecans

Toss all in a bowl.  Melt until creamy.  Pour in an 8 X 8 dish.  Cool two hours.  Enjoy

Things I am grateful for today.

  1. God’s Son and His sacrifice for us.
  2. My family and friends and for those who read this lesson.
  3. For all of the amenities of life.

“Talent is God given.  Be humble

Fame is man-given.  Be grateful.  Conceit

Is self-given.  Be careful.”
