Rely on the Lord! Be strong and confident! Rely on the Lord! Psalm 27.14

Who do you call when you need help? You may have an exercise buddy to help you keep up with your workouts. Maybe you have a doctor that helps you with your diet to enable you to lose weight. Perhaps you have a best friend to whom you tell all your problems and secrets.

What do you do when that person is not available? Do you still exercise or eat properly? Or do you become rather lost and discouraged?

It is important in whom or on what we rely. We need to rely in someone who is always there, who will not abandon us. David tells us to rely on the Lord, to be dependent on him. He asks the Lord to teach him the way to live, Psalm 27.11. We can do the same, and by reading his word, we can have the assurance of knowing that way.

What is the result of relying on the Lord? I can be strong and confident as I grow in knowledge of his word. That does not mean that I will not have challenges in life. However, I will not have to go through those challenges alone if I rely on God.
