We read in Scripture of having faith.  The following men of God had much faith in Him.  They had a working faith, for:
“without faith it is impossible to please Him.”  Hebrews 11:6

“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?  Can faith save him?  If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,’ but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?  Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.  But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works.’  Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.  You believe that there is one God.  You do well.  Even the demons believe and tremble!  But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?  Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?  Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?  And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, ‘Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.  And he was called the friend of God.  You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.’”

Hebrews Chapter 11 is known as the “faith chapter.”  I pray this will give you as much comfort as it has given me.

“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which He condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”       Hebrews 11:7

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.  By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.  . . .”   Hebrews 11:9

“By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph;  and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.”        Hebrews 11:21

“By faith, Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s  daughter;  Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;  Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt:  for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.”
Hebrews 11:24-26

“By faith, Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac:  and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:  Accounting that God was able to raise him up even from the dead;  from whence also he received him in a figure.”     Hebrews 11:17-19

“Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.  Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.  These all died in faith, not having received the promises but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.”      Hebrews 11:11-13

The above mentioned men and women of faith, and many more had great faith in God, but were not themselves free of trouble in this life.  Each was persevered through faith in Him; God was faithful to all those who truly trusted in Him.  May we too have this kind of working faith.
