Spiritual and physical sight are very different. Helping young people or anyone who has not grown up “religious” to see into the spiritual realm can be a difficult task. In John 3:1-7, we read that Nicodemus (a teacher in Israel) was not able to see spiritually, and from that account we understand that “seeing” must not be an automatic ability.
Ferah Glott has made a Power Point for elementary and middle school children to help them begin to understand the meaning of physical and spiritual sight. It may be seen here.
