The sun is up, and the tide is going out, and if I do not throw them in they will die

How many of us tell ourselves we don’t make a difference?  You may not believe it, but you have an influence on others!

Our families are influenced by us.  How many times have we seen our children imitate our behavior?  Little girls play dress up and are influenced by their moms.  Little boys imitate their fathers and try to be like them.  We are very important in someone’s life.

One can make difference. Think of how many “ones” there are.  One penny begins a dollar.  One word can lift a heart.  One word can destroy a heart.  One word can encourage.  One word can build.  One kindness can heal a heart and make someone’s day or perhaps turn a life around and point them to heaven.

“One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room.
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirit,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what’s true.
One life can make the difference,
You see, It’s Up To You!      ~ Unknown

There was One Life which made a difference in this world for each of us.  This was our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  That One Solitary Life made His way to the cross.  He could have called down legions of angels to prevent what happened to Him, but He didn’t.  He had a matchless love for all people, for all time.

“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;  One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”    Ephesians 4:4-6

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; . . .”   I Timothy 2:5

“But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him.”     I Corinthians 8:6

“I and My Father are One.”   John 10:30

Choose to be a good example for all to see and imitate Christ in all you do.

“An old man was walking on the beach one morning after a storm.
In the distance, he could see someone moving like a dancer.
As he came closer, he saw that it was a young woman picking up
starfish and gently throwing them into the ocean.  “Young lady, why are you
throwing starfish into the ocean?”

“The sun is up, and the tide is going
out, and if I do not throw them in they will die,” she said.

“But young lady, do you not realize that there are many miles of beach and
thousands of starfish?  You cannot possibly make a difference.”

The young woman listened politely, then bent down, picked up another
starfish and threw it into the sea.

“It made a difference for that one.”
