There are consequences to our choices in life.

We live in a nation that seems no longer to want moral absolutes. There are two sides to every issue. Right or wrong. There is no middle nor a “straddling of the fence”, and remember the devil owns the fence. In conversations that I have had with some members of the Lord’s church, they didn’t want to fight for Truth. They wanted no “wrangling”, which is what one said to me. In other words, leave the fighting for Truth to someone else. They would sit on the sidelines not saying a word of defense for the Gospel. This is not the kind of soldier our Lord wants in His army. One that will give up and surrender to the enemy, allowing the one that does stand for Truth to go it alone.

“Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.” Proverbs 25:19

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

There are consequences to our choices in life. We can either stand for Truth or shirk our personal responsibility and leave the fighting to others and as I heard a politician say, “There is nothing in the middle of the road but a yellow stripes and dead armadillos.”

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” I Timothy 6:12

There may be one other reason one will not enter the fight and that is a lack of knowledge of God’s Word. Scripture teaches us to:

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.” Ephesians 6:11-13

…and we cannot stand against Satan if we do not know Scripture. Eternity hangs in the balance. Who is on the Lord’s side? …and what will your choice be? Very sobering thoughts.

“I can accept anything, except what seems to be the easiest for most people: the half-way, the almost, the just about and the in-between.”
