Truth does not change.

Truth is a pillar that supports a nation, state, community, businesses, congregations, families and individuals.  Any deviation from truth starts a crumbling process.  One lie begets another lie, and another, until the fabric is frayed and the support that truth gave, gives way.  Truth does not change.  What is true today will be true tomorrow, and in that knowledge we build trust.

“The least initial deviation from the truth is multiplied later a thousandfold.”

When congregations stray from truth, they begin following their will in the place of God’s.  It is is called “pride,” Satan’s favorite tool to ensnare us.  Pride began in the Garden of Eden when Satan enticed Eve with fruit God told her not to eat.  Satan enticed her in three ways, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.  We are tempted as well when we stray from Him and His commandments.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”       Genesis 3:6

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”     I John 1:16

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”      Proverbs 16:18

Pilate therefore said unto Him, Art Thou a king then?  Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I Am a King.  To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the Truth.  Everyone that is of the Truth heareth My voice.  Pilate saith unto Him, What is truth?  And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in Him no fault at all.”  John 18:37-38

And ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.”   John 8:32

Jesus saith unto him, I Am the way, the Truth, and the life:  no man cometh unto the Father, buy by Me.”       John 14:6

Sanctify them through Thy Truth:  Thy Word is Truth.”     John 17:17

The only way we can know truth is to read His Word, follow in His footsteps, and do His commandments.  We will be judged by His Truth and His Words, not man’s.  It matters not what I think, you think, our relatives think, nor various religious bodies think.  We will not be judged by the various creeds men have written, only by His Word, and His Word alone.  We will stand alone, and give an account.  Satan wants us to believe that one church is as good as another, but we don’t find that in the Bible; we must have His authority for all that we do.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at His doctrine:  For He taught them as one having Authority, and not as the scribes.”    Matthew 7:28-29

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth.”
Matthew 28:18

And they were astonished at His doctrine:  for He taught them as one that had Authority, and not as the scribes.”        Mark 1:22

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God;  and the books were opened;  and another book was opened, which is the book of life:  and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”      Revelation 20:12

May we seek His will, seek His truth, follow His pattern, and humble ourselves to His authority in all that we do.

Buy the Truth and sell it not;  also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.”   Proverbs 23:23

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments:  and His commandments are not grievous.”     I John 5:3

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;  One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, Who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”      Ephesians 4:3-6

Lead me in Thy Truth, and teach me; for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all the day.”   Psalm 25:5

“One of our greatest needs is capable leadership.  We need to be led – not misled.  However, the One and only unerring direction is found in God and His unerring truth.

Unless we are led by the light of truth, we are left to grope and stumble in darkness.  Being well aware of this, the psalmist pleaded for leadership in truth, effected by teaching.

“The paths of the Lord are mercy and truth”  Psalm 25:10 – where mercy is extended and truth is kept.  Those who walk the higher paths are those who “keep His covenant and His testimonies.”  Every person who follows Him does it by virtue of heeding Him.  So if we want Divine leadership, we have a responsibility to move at His command.”         ~ Leroy Brownlow
